Hop onto Casey's Caboose and travel back to a time when trains were the backbone of the nation. This unique restaurant, which opened in 1981, is situated in a 35-ton, early 1900s railroad snowplow car that once kept New England's snow-covered tracks clear until a derailment ended its service.
Casey's Caboose draws its name and inspiration from the Cannonball Express run by the legendary engineer Casey Jones. In 1900, as Jones's locomotive sped down the tracks, a stalled freight train appeared in its path. "JUMP! JUMP!" Casey shouted to his crew, while he stayed at the controls to try to prevent a catastrophe. Casey Jones lost his life that day, but his story lives on in this extraordinary restaurant. It's a place where the whole family can enjoy a meal, filled with unexpected and delightful details. You can choose to dine on a raised observation deck, where the engineer once directed the train, or sit by the large windows that offer a full view of Killington.
Visit Casey's Caboose, a must-see restaurant marked by its yellow snowplow and red train car. As the locals say, "if you haven't been to Casey's, you haven't been to Killington."
