If great food and nightlife aren’t enough to get you excited for the upcoming ski season, don’t forget Thanksgiving Weekend will see the return of one of Killington’s most anticipated annual events, the Stifel Killington Cup! This three-day event is packed with music, entertainment, great food, community shopping events at the Vendor’s Village, and, of course, epic alpine ski races.

Mikaela Shiffrin will look to score her 100th win as skiers from all over compete in Slalom and Giant Slalom races on the iconic Superstar trail, and you won’t want to miss it. With thousands set to attend this popular event, knowing where to go for post-race celebrations and the best food in Killington, Vt. is a must.

Lookout Tavern

The first spot on the left when you’re coming off the mountain, Lookout Tavern, is a natural stop when you’re ready for après ski fun in Killington. VT. The menu offers delicious burgers and wings, as well as burritos, chili, wraps, and more. Featuring eight made-in-Vermont beers plus excellent house-made specialty cocktails, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a full day on the slopes.

Challenge a friend to a game of pool or pinball, or just enjoy the local flair. Either way, you’re in for one of the best après atmospheres in Killington. 

Preston’s

Located at the Killington Grand Hotel, Preston's offers an elevated après environment with a focus on delicious food made from local ingredients and perfect pairings that highlight the tastes of the region.

It’s an ideal spot for an elegant post-ski cocktail or meal. Their extensive wine list and drink offerings shine with items like the Spruce Tip Gimlet, made from Killington Distillery Woodland Gin, and their Old World Reds, which complement the Vermont Cheese Board or Roasted Bone Marrow. Reservations are recommended for parties of eight or more. This winter, you can also visit them for breakfast and lunch on weekends and certain peak dates.

Ledgewood Yurt

A truly unique spot located on the mountain, Ledgewood Yurt is a ski-in/ski-out lunch restaurant that serves tasty soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as a great variety of canned beers, signature drinks, and wines by the glass or bottle.

Stop in mid-run to their mountainside location and indulge in a piping hot bowl of loaded potato soup, split a truffled mushroom flatbread pizza, or just warm up by the wood stove with some seasonal mulled wine. And keep a lookout for family night and other dinner events as the season gets underway!

Charity’s 1887 Saloon

Bult in 1971, Charity’s Saloon has been a Killington staple for more than 40 years. Step up to the historic bar, handmade in France in 1887, and enjoy a pint at the marble rail as you reminisce on your day on the mountain.

The menu is a casual smattering of all the best bar offerings. Split their nachos or order poutine covered in rich gravy and gooey cheese. Entrees include everything from homestyle classics like meatloaf and pot pies to seared salmon and steak.

The drink menu is an après wonderland with seasonal drafts from local breweries and cocktails made with Vermont spirits. The wine list is thorough, and there are even zero-proof options available so everyone can join in the fun.

The Garlic

When it comes to some of the best food in Killington, The Garlic is a must-visit, especially when you’re craving Italian. Perfect for a romantic date night or a cozy family dinner with the whole group, you’ll love their mozzarella sticks, classic pastas, and expertly cooked entrees like their New York Strip or their Garlic Rack of Lamb. Ask your server for recommendations on wine parings from their list when you visit or try their signature martinis!

Sushi Yoshi

Casey’s Caboose

All aboard Casey’s Caboose, the most unique dining venue in Killington, located in a railroad snowplow car from the 1900s. Voted the No. 1 Place to Eat in Killington by TripAdvisor, they’re a great spot for dinner while you’re in town. Try their fantastic French Onion Soup and pair it with the Filet Mignon, or keep it casual with Casey’s Fish and Chips or their famous wings.

Best Food at Killington Resort

The Killington Resort has tons of dining options to keep you fueled while you’re on the mountain. Grab sweet confections at the famous Waffle Cabins, located slope-side next to the Ramshead and K-1 Base lodges and inside the Snowshed Base Lodge on the 2nd floor.

Food trucks like the Beastro, Subie Shack, and Rollin’ Rooster will be positioned next to the Umbrella Bar and base lodges. Or you can get some of the best views in Killington at places like Peak Lodge, and other sit-down restaurants like the Clubhouse Grill. Wherever you choose to eat while out on the mountain, you’re guaranteed to find delicious food the whole family will enjoy.

Seasonal Killington Resort restaurants will be open by mid-November, in time for the start of the season.

Nightlife in Killington

Nightlife in Killington offers a mix of everything from casual bar hangs to rowdy dance club vibes. At The Pickle Barrel, you’ll find four bars, three levels, and two stages, ready for whatever you want to get into during your ski vacation.
